Explore the birthplace of modern Australia with a tour of the historic Rocks precinct. Located on the western side of Circular Quay, The Rocks is where British colonists and convicts landed in 1788. Step back in time, exploring cobblestone alleyways, colonial buildings and tranquil courtyards. And learn how the area was transformed from its squalid dockside past into a thriving entertainment zone, as your guide brings Sydney’s history and heritage to life with stories and anecdotes.
Explore the Eastern Suburbs
Cradled between Sydney Harbour and the Pacific Ocean, the Eastern Suburbs showcase the city’s beauty and diversity. Traverse Woolloomooloo, Paddington, Wollahra and Kings Cross, former working-class districts transformed into trendy and eclectic neighbourhoods. And explore affluent beachside suburbs, where mesmerising scenery, stunning ocean beaches (including the world-famous Bondi), manicured parks and gardens, designer shopping, and a hip dining, café and bar scene are the playground of the rich and famous.
Beach time at Bondi
A visit to the Eastern Suburbs isn’t complete without a trip to the world-famous Bondi Beach. Soak up those famed beachside vibes as you stroll along the prom, sip coffee at a swanky beach bar, and watch bronzed Aussie lifeguards and surfers catching a wave. While Bondi is a showstopper, we’ll also introduce you to some more intimate beaches frequented by locals in the know. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to stretch your legs with short walks along coastal paths renowned for their exquisite views, such as the Watsons Bay walk at South Head and part of the Bondi to Bronte trail.
From the Eastern Suburbs to the North Shore
Next, it’s time to venture north to the leafy districts of the North Shore. Enjoy a unique perspective of Sydney Harbour Bridge as you cross the famous waterway. Although views of the harbour are restricted, you’ll gain an awe-inspiring sense of the magnitude of this Aussie icon, affectionately known as the ‘Coathanger’ by locals. It’s up to you whether you prefer to lunch in the east or north, but whatever you decide we can promise sublime harbour views and delightfully fresh seafood.
Relax at laidback Manly
The tour ends at Sydney’s second most famous beach. Gateway to the Northern Beaches, Manly has a more relaxed, laidback vibe than busy Bondi. Enjoy some leisure time in this charming seaside suburb, strolling along the Norfolk pine-lined prom and sweeping golden sands, or paddling in aquamarine waters. Watch surfers catch a wave, or head to protected Shelly beach for a refreshing dip. Browse surf shops and eateries on the local’s favourite open-air mall at The Corso, before we drive you back to your Sydney hotel.
